Rainbow House Children's Resource Center currently has prevention programs that are offered to both children and adults in Houston County. The children are taught what to do if someone makes them feel uncomfortable in any situation. The adults are taught about child abuse in all its forms and how best to protect the children in their lives. Programs include Teen Parent Support Group, First Steps, Personal Body Safety, Stop it Now! GA, Stewards for Children by Darkness to Light, and Parenting classes - 1,2,3 Magic, More 1,2,3 Magic and Surviving Your Adolescents.

Child Abuse Prevention Month 2010 was very successful and busy.  We kicked the month off with the Proclamation Signing followed by Easter in the Park; Movie in the Park; and Power of Prevention Night at Cheddars and The Swanson.  The Top Spinners for 2010 are Mr. Jason Ashford with the Houston County District Attorny's office who volunteered his time at Cheddars and Ms. Traci Williams of the Perry Family Learning Center is the Top Spinner for bringing in the most money while volunteering at The Swanson.  A heartfelt Thank you goes out to all of our wonderfull vonlunteers for giving of their time and talents to make April 2010 such a success for the Rainbow House in efforts to help protect the children of Houston County.
