First Steps is a primary prevention program of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia. The goal of First Steps is to offer emotional support, parenting education and referrals to community services. We believe that healthy family relationships help reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect. First Steps promotes healthy families.

| How do I become a volunteer? -Complete the volunteer application -Interview with First Steps Program Coordinator -Attend a First Steps Service Provider Training session (6 hours) -Submit to a criminal background check -Sign a statement of commitment -Sign a confidentially statement -Attend Houston Medical Center's Hospital orientation and obtain TB screening -Complete your first supervised visit with First Steps Program Coordinator |
